It might seem petty, by my suspension of disbelief was totally ruined by being told that Viola's massive blonde hair was supposed to be hidden under a tidy little brown wig.

The possible life and loves of Shakespeare as he writes Romeo and Juliet is what made me appreciate that play! Incredibly witty, detailed and allusive, like the best of the Bard's own work. A true and touching winner.

Cute movie with lots of good actors and a nice story. Loved some of the genuine Shakespeare lines and the beautiful pictures.

Maybe a little overrated, though - it's not THAT special.

Better that I was expecting, it is not better than private ryan or truman show, but it doesn't bother me like others oscar winners bother me.
What the hell academy, Judi Dench won an oscar for that simple nothing special six minute performance? Just Ridiculous, the same go for the Baftas.

Shakespeare in Love is one of those movies that I can watch over and over again. I just love the drama and the impossible love.

Wonderful movie with one of the best scripts ever. It gets a lot of stick for winning the Academy Award over Saving Private Ryan from geeks who believe war movies always trump romantic comedies, but IMO Shakespeare in Love is easily the better film.

there are movies that are worthy to win or at least to be nominated, this one is so absurd. It’s not that funny or romantic, what’s so special about this one? Is it just because Paltrow cross-dressing?
