This film suffers from the same problem as the Now You See Me films, the "magic" just isn't believable and is only possible with cgi or real life magic.Joker of Gotham
Obviously The Prestige that the film is much better than this, but also The Prestige movie is much better than many films that are great.The Illusionist is a good movie certainly surprised me positively.

The ending was so predictable. He's an illusionist it says it in the title so why would I not assume that everything is an illusion. I don't see the point in speaking in accents either if the dialogue is English, just speak plainly. And they also did a poor job coveying that the prince was evil, all I got from his behavior and dialogue was that he was difficult to deal with, everything else was just rumors.Borvaran

Great Movie! I liked the colours used as a setting, just like the turn of the century, the incredible plot which reveals itself at the end. I started to like Edward Norton since I watched this movie.Jashezilla

Like Deep Impact and Armageddon, The Prestige and The Illusionist were released on the same year, exactly look a like movies.. As the four movies are bad, that doesn't make any difference..
