Critics say this is the best DC movie since Nolan's Batman. Honestly, the bar was set to low and I believe their are lightyears away from the MCU. It wasnt bad, but I dont think is good either. 6/10 for me. Good fighting scenes but way to cheesy over the end.

There were some truly great fight sequences and on the whole I think they did the character herself justice. The ending was a bit cheesy and over the top, but much less so than, say, Suicide Squad.

This felt more like a war movie than a superhero movie, and it does a good job of explaining the range of emotions that war brings. If anything, the range may be too much to devote to much time to any one aspect. Ultimately the moral of the story is that war, like people, is very complicated. It was very refreshing for a superhero movie to take a simple yet insightful look at the subject. Good action, mostly good acting (although at times cheesy) and good effects. Solid movie, i would call this the best DC film since The Dark Knight (2008)

Although the back-half suffered from having to stick to the DC/Snyder "house-style," the fight scenes were great and the scenes on the island were beautiful.

I know the majority of people don't agree with me here, and I'm perfectly fine with people liking Wonder Woman. However, I thought this movie was absolutely hilarious . . . except in the accidental way. In my opinion, this is an amazing bad movie. My friend and I could hardly keep in our laughter. Pros: some terrific fight sequences, lots of charisma from Gadot and Pine, and some good fish-out-of-water humor when Diana hits London.

Cons: endless, nonsensical magical fight scene to close out the film; Steve Trevor's boring, stereotypical "squad of misfits"; long speeches about the dual nature of man that were already cliche 50 years ago.

Worth my $11 to see, but I'm surprised this has been such a critical darling.

On the surface, Wonder Woman is a fun film with a strong story, decent script and lots of great action. Truly enjoyable. DC finally made a good one.

Beneath the surface, the film kicks all the feminist elements and mythos to the curb. Then spits on it. Everything revolves around the man, his plans, his efforts and him saving the damsel in distress (due to culture shock mostly) most of the time. Sure, WW has a grand plan too but it's facilitated by patriarchy through and through. Take the moment when Chris Pine meets WW: She literally exclaims: "You're a man!!!" as if to imbue and imply the power that brings and what he represents. Moreover, Diana is ogled by all at every turn. It's insulting. The only other women in the film (outside Diana's own kind) are presented as physically repulsive as if to imply that the wondrous thing about Diana is her beauty and not her strength and determination. On top of that, she's shown as naive.

Back on the surface though, it's a solid super hero movie that I quite enjoyed - a couple odd editing quibbles but nothing major. The closing scene was a bit hokey, but otherwise great. Under the surface, it's an insulting mess.

It is completely nonsense that this movie went above the bar among both IMDB and Metacritic users. This has to be a joke! Bury BVS and praise Wonder Woman?
The only beautiful, original element was the motion soundtrack and that's it. A void, dull, eventless first half and a parody of Anglo-Saxon masturbation in the second half. Oh Mighty Ares!

DC is finally trying to learn some things from Marvel movies... being dark and serious all the time can be tiring...

Wonder Woman had me teary-eyed for the first two acts, and sort of lost me with a nevertheless acceptable third act fight. Let me explain. The great thing about the film is that it completely gets Diana, n a way that's been rare even in the comics. Her strength is based on willfulness and compassion, and I loved just about everything that came out of her mouth. At the same time, this is the 21st-Century's only DC movie to actually allow its hero to be inspirational, none of that "humans back away from hero in fear" bullcrap. Gal Dadot is immediately Wonder Woman. Throw in some lighter comedic moments thanks to Chris Pine (whose comic timing is excellent) and Lucy Davis and the film balances the bleak war story well with fish out of water elements. Wonder Woman was the best thing about Batman v Superman, but BvS is the worst thing about Wonder Woman. That is to say, the house style established in Man of Steel, BvS, etc., with slow-mo, 3D-friendly fights/painted "panels" keeps reminding you this is the "Snyderverse" and, for me, threatens to grind the film to a standstill every time it's used. And it's used a LOT. So I wish Diana had really been up against the spectre of war as opposed to a fightable manifestation of it, because that's where the drama lay, in her coming up against the futility of trying to fix Man's World. But formulaic superhero plot aside, what we got was a definitive, powerful Wonder Woman that had all the ladies coming out of the theater "empowered" and swinging, and I hope the suits finally get it that female action heroes are just as engaging as male ones, and from novelty at this point, more so.

What a great film. Really loved the chemstry between Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. Gal Gadot was brilliant, and so was he. Perfect characters in this movie. Loved Dianas naivety. Perfectly funny, but not stupid. Kinda over-the-top inevietable last act, but it was fine. Liked this. Very much. Great music!

While not a perfect film (see David Thewlis’s head superimposed over an underwear model’s body and, more importantly, dramatic structure), Wonder Woman is so very good. Gal Gadot is lovely and credible, and I cannot remember when a female lead excited me that much — not since Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider (2001). Not that there is a strong tradition of female leads in action films in the first place, which is why Wonder Woman is so important.

Appearing at this point in the cinematic universe of DC, the story cannot escape the politics of gender, diversity (of all kinds), male gaze, and emancipation. There is an awareness to it within the film, but I wonder if the result is a first step in the right direction, rather than anything like culmination. Diana’s journey from adolescence (Themyscira) to forming and finding her destiny (the passage through No Man’s Land and the battle with Ares) is taking place in a patriarchal world, one that is necessarily at odds with her homeland. This is acknowledged to a degree (London scenes, the mention of women’s vote), but as a side-note. Diana is treated very much like an exception: she has to continuously prove more competent than the men to be seen as their equal. She does not really have a problem doing that, so the approach is not called into question.

I have come across criticisms of the romantic plotline, saying that the attraction to someone Diana spent a week with would not be her main motivation, when she had her aunt and mentor to avenge. Not to mention fulfilling the mission she had been training for her entire life. I absolutely agree, but the instant romance has been a plot device for a very, very long time. While it would be nice to have action films that are emotionally accurate, I do not think that the application of the trope in Wonder Woman is to undermine the protagonist’s independence and the suggest the overwhelming importance of dick.

I wish we spent more time on Themyscira. It looked like all the fun from Xena: Warrior Princess, plus armadillos.

Not as horribly bad as most DC movies but that's not setting a very high standard. The origin story was kind of painful and unnecessary. There were so many plot holes you could drive a tank through, there was barely any plot left to stand up and the contrived "love story" (because hey, it's a chick flick superhero so luuuuv is everything, right?) was downright cringe-worthy. Wonder Woman felt more like a supporting character than a lead but all this was obviously by design.
Gadot is in severe need of a donut, pilates and acting lessons but again, no shocker there.
All in all, it's worth watching in the theatre for the action and the AC but it's nothing to write home about, let alone get very excited.

DC delivered with this film, finally some actual fight scenes portrayed and some stunning visuals. Wonder Woman's theme is a favourite.
