I know the majority of people don't agree with me here, and I'm perfectly fine with people liking Wonder Woman. However, I thought this movie was absolutely hilarious . . . except in the accidental way. In my opinion, this is an amazing bad movie. My friend and I could hardly keep in our laughter. Enjoyed Gal Gadot's and Chris Pine's performance, but that was about it. Plot was predictable and boring, and don't get me started on the ridiculousness of characters like doctor poison.
On the surface, Wonder Woman is a fun film with a strong story, decent script and lots of great action. Truly enjoyable. DC finally made a good one.
Beneath the surface, the film kicks all the feminist elements and mythos to the curb. Then spits on it. Everything revolves around the man, his plans, his efforts and him saving the damsel in distress (due to culture shock mostly) most of the time. Sure, WW has a grand plan too but it's facilitated by patriarchy through and through. Take the moment when Chris Pine meets WW: She literally exclaims: "You're a man!!!" as if to imbue and imply the power that brings and what he represents. Moreover, Diana is ogled by all at every turn. It's insulting. The only other women in the film (outside Diana's own kind) are presented as physically repulsive as if to imply that the wondrous thing about Diana is her beauty and not her strength and determination. On top of that, she's shown as naive.
Back on the surface though, it's a solid super hero movie that I quite enjoyed - a couple odd editing quibbles but nothing major. The closing scene was a bit hokey, but otherwise great. Under the surface, it's an insulting mess.
Good Movie. But overrated for a lot of social reasons. And what's with people praising it for Action sequences?? :P But then may be most of the audiences are slow to grab on action sequences that are little bit fast like in Man of Steel.
This felt more like a war movie than a superhero movie, and it does a good job of explaining the range of emotions that war brings. If anything, the range may be too much to devote to much time to any one aspect. Ultimately the moral of the story is that war, like people, is very complicated. It was very refreshing for a superhero movie to take a simple yet insightful look at the subject. Good action, mostly good acting (although at times cheesy) and good effects. Solid movie, i would call this the best DC film since The Dark Knight (2008)
Gal Gadot was a wrong choice. Her acting was just hideous. The graphics and action scenes did not seem very good to me. I am happy that a movie with a strong FL got so successful. But at least make a good movie to deserve that success.
talk about a movie that has changed the game- until now the fight scene soundtrack is still ringing in my head when I feel like hitting someone.
Charming cast, amazing fight scenes and decent story- the only bummer is the villain; he wasn't that convincing. buuuuut I can't wait for the sequel!
8/10
Pretty emtertaining super hero movie with a nice WWI setting and fine cast. As usual overlong and weak (predictable of its casting) villian but still some good action and setpieces. Gadot and Pine work well together

The best of rotten tomatoes you say? Finally a movie that truly belongs on a list with such a title!Marianna Delfim
DC is finally trying to learn some things from Marvel movies... being dark and serious all the time can be tiring...DaniloFreiles

I'm getting too old for these type of movies...The humour is dumb and the characters likewise.
Decent action scenes though.

Is a movie may be ‘feminist’, or is it the viewer, always, who understand a movie ‘as’ a feminist (or not) one? A pleasant moment, though.Read more in French on La Saveur des goûts amers.

DC delivered with this film, finally some actual fight scenes portrayed and some stunning visuals. Wonder Woman's theme is a favourite.nowhereman136
