Inspired by real life legend Simo Häyhä and fictional legend Rambo, Jorma Tommila plays the ex-commando slash gold prospector Aatami Korpi. His main weapon: a superhuman strong will (though, because of the first couple scenes, I'm not quite sure if he just wants to live or wants to live to be rich from the gold) that makes him nightmare fuel for the Nazis and we enjoy seeing them killed by this hero. It's a good movie that introduces a new badass to the screen, not detracted by the obvious stereotypes, that I hope we will see again sometime. Hopefully a prequel, where he's fighting the Russians.

Not half bad. The movie would have been carried by a decent cast of two, were it not that their characters can't communicate with each other properly, so what's left is a movie carried mostly by imagery, atmosphere and emotion. I'm content with this. It fits the primal setting. The dinosaurs seem real enough, especially their behavior -- as opposed to the Jurassic Park franchise and movies of that ilk -- which make them much more scary and intimidating. They shouldn't have thrown a gun into the mix though. There's so many cool tool/weapon options for a technologically advanced enough civ that can bridge the interstellar medium for the sake of exploitation/exploration.

Does High Art, greatness, Hollywood, stardom, beauty, love and creativity require not only hard work, but chaos and luck [It means King in French!], sacrifice and trauma [Jazzzz!]? That seems to be the question this film poses to us and wants to resolve.

I mostly agree with the argument, but the closing statement was too underwhelming and the overall theme too dark for me to believe anything other than a hard "no". Within the context of the movie at least. Maybe that was the point Chazelle wanted to make. Not sure, though.

Presented are some very real and concerning elements that to this day still plague Unholywood and the entertainment industry, like pretty much any other industry. Shit happened, shit happens, shit will always happen, might as well enjoy the process and the products.

There's also no point in taking historical phenomena, events and characters out of their historical context. It's like blaming your great-grandparents for inadequacies that you have and are aware of. Why not just work on improving and or compensating for those? We can try to build a better world today. Anyway, despite the movie's shortcomings (it could have used a bit more time in the editing room) and misgivings, there's a wonderful score, great characters and acting, a dynamism that matches the theme and a dreamlike quality to the whole thing that made it all really engaging and worthwhile.

Fuck, this is my 2999th movie. I should have saved this for the 3000th one. I love Cage. This has more Cage in it than any other Cage movie.

Don't expect stellar performances and you'll have a good enough time. Spiderman and Marky Mark in Pirates of the Ocean 13.

There's some laughs and originality in there somewhere. However, the gray area that used to be the fun in Jackass is now clearly black as Knoxville's soul, who crosses many a friends line in this installment. Thrills, balls and pranks don't do it anymore. Half the shots are just fear and pain. Knoxville needs that Guantanamo style trauma juice. Nostalgia to the point of actual torture. Am I getting too old for this shit? No. But Knoxville and company are.

Pretty standard end of the world family movie with some nice cg. Oh, and it's mostly a Kaspersky ad. Ironic, since Kaspersky has now been labeled "a threat to U.S. cyber-security".

You're part of the moon botnet now.

No Exit, it feels to me, hails back to the mid-nillies suspense flicks era. A strong foundation, proper execution, not too much fluff. It just works. Most notable is the performance by lead Havana Rose Liu. I bet we'll be seeing more of her.

May, UMG and Disney Hollywood records ploy to boost sales, nothing more. The performance by Malek (probably because of the teeth as well) was more distracting than anything else. They're just keeping the Queen IP fresh. Well, they're attempting to.

This is the ninth entry (ten if you count Hobbs & Shaw) in the series. If by now, you're still taking this franchise serious enough to critique it like it's supposed to be more than a dumb action flick, you're insane. Just enjoy the ride.
