Craig here is the same as Connery in 'Diamonds are forever' or Roger Moore in 'For your eyes only': the type of Bond tired of himself and usually more often beated on the ground than shooting the bad guys, being the female character (Lea Sedoux, the very best of this film) who saves the day.
The chasing scenes seems more typical from The Pink Panther than 007 and the references to other Bond films are baroque and meaningless.
