I would argue that there isn’t a crisis of faith happening at all. More like a crisis of humanity. But the film fits squarely in that genre in tone and execution.

Dimensions collide, causing a ripple through the solar system - and in the screenplay.
Enter: crippling exposition, various plot holes and unexplained variances, multiple ticking time bombs, an overwhelming score, wasted acting AND MORE!
Skip this space junk - it adds nothing to this Universe.

High-Rise, aka The Empty Bottle of Wine Floating Atop The Unoccupied Swimming Pool.

Just like the occupants of the high-rise, the story quickly becomes lost within the misguided potential of its own structure.

Watched what I can only expect is the dumbed down US cut. In the end, I wouldn't want to watch the other 22 minutes of the international cut. By far Kar-Wai's worst output, soulless and lacking cohesion. 3/10

6/10 - fun origin story, but let's not kid ourselves that this is anything but a summer popcorn flick. some pretty laughable moments, but Fassbender and McAvoy do well in their roles.
