Terrible.

12 Years A Slave at least made me care about the characters as it punished my feelings. This was garbage.

This was like a long version of that SNL spoof.

Incredibly personal, intimate, and honest. Existential and depressing yet profoundly grounded in real world shit. I loved it and it's earned its praise.

The 911 call to close the credits was horrific.

Simple in its premise but layes with intricate little nuances. Great acting from all especially the kids.

Gorgeous animation and a very somber theme. Remided me a bit of Waking Life.

Uncle Boonme was a better film. Interesting but slow and not in a good way. Just didnt grab me.

This is going to be a classic in 30 years. Criterion will put out a version of it in 10. Really ambitious and eerie filmmaking from such a young director. I got weird Shining vibes from it in spots and the ending with that crushing score was fantastic. Really enjoyed it. Be patient with it though.

Conflicted on whether I love it or just like it. Reason being, the subject matter, while finely written, didn't break any new ground. It was REALLY heavy and sometimes seemed to pile it on. Yet, Casey Affleck and the acting totally elevated the story into something special. Best performance of the year. It's a great example of acting taking a story to new heights. I think i loved the film. I'd have to see it again.

Certainly is a great 2016 film though.
