    Multiple Best Picture Honors

Favs/dislikes: 21:0. These are the films that have won more than one best picture award, usually by winning Best Picture in its country of origin, then Best Foreign Film in another. For the sake of this list, I limited the list of recognized industry bodies to those from Australia, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, India, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the United States. I then supplemented that list with Best Film winners from the Gramado & Ouagadougou Film Festivals to gain representation from all continents. I included award categories for feature-length animation, but omitted shorts and documentaries. I also included variations on Best Film and Best Foreign Film, most notably: -- the Donatello for Best European Film -- the Goya for Best Iberoamerican Film -- the Nika for Best Film of the CIS and Baltics -- the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Chinese Language Film from the Two Coasts -- the Ariel for Best Latin-American Film -- the Golden Kikito for Best Latin Film All titles are sorted first by number of honors, then year of release. The leader (with 9) is Bong Joon Ho's "Parasite" which won Best Film in South Korea and Best Foreign Film in Australia, Great Britain, France, Italy, Sweden, and Japan, plus two Best Picture Oscars.

  13. RottenTomatoes' "Fresh" Films of the 2010s's icon

RottenTomatoes' "Fresh" Films of the 2010s

Favs/dislikes: 21:0. This is a list of every major film that has been released thus far in the decade of 2010-2019 and has a "fresh" rating of 60% or higher on Rotten Tomatoes. By "major film" I am referring to any wide release or film that has otherwise received notable attention or acclaim from critics and audiences. Please note that some films are just teetering on the border between "fresh" and "rotten" so sometimes a film that was once rotten becomes fresh or a film that was once fresh becomes rotten. This is not a definitive "best of the decade" list per se, but just a general idea of what what films have been well received by the critics. I will be updating this every time a new "fresh" film is released and this list will continue to grow as the decade proceeds. *Notes: Concert movies such as Katy Perry: Part of Me or Justin Bieber: Never Say Never are not included. Some of the movies listed have changed titles during production but have not yet been changed on iCheckMovies. I have listed these films in the location where their new names should be placed alphabetically. These films include Hope Springs (Great Hope Springs), The Campaign (Dog Fight), Killing Them Softly (Cogan's Trade) and Lawless (The Wettest County in the World).

  15. Screwball: Hollywood's Madcap Romantic Comedies's icon

    Screwball: Hollywood's Madcap Romantic Comedies

Favs/dislikes: 21:0. "Irreverent, elegant, sublime, and ridiculous, the screwball films of the 1930s and 1940s are a timeless collison of high wit and low slapstick, in which the players used street-smart repartee to turn good taste into bad manners. For one breathtaking moment Hollywood produced a succession of these unforgettable classics: His Girl Friday, Bringing Up Baby, My Man Godfrey, The Lady Eve, The Thin Man, and Twentieth Century. They featured wacky heiresses, boss ladies, and Cinderellas played by stars like Claudette Colbert, Rosalind Russell, and Jean Arthur. They hated and mated Gary Cooper, John Barrymore and William Powell: absent-minded professors, mad impressarios, and tuxedo-clad detectives." This list is a selected filmography of Screwball comedies, and a few earlier influences (ie: Design For Living) that exemplified the genre and are discussed thoroughly in Ed Sikov's book "Screwball: Hollwood's Madcap Romantic Comedies."
