A very wholesome film and nothing quite like what the trailer represents. I very much liked the sibling dynamic and the humour was so natural and witty, would highly recommend.
I watched this because of Barb from Stranger Things.
She is talented, I wish this film was written with more love and attention. Some of the scenes felt like they were trying to do something different but they half assed the screenplay to make it cliche for young viewers to enjoy. Like seriously what is with the cheerleader and jock obsession! People are not defined by the sports they play.
I really wanted to like this film. The screenplay felt like a rushed fanfiction and the storyline felt so unrealistic. Everything felt like a marketing ploy, especially the soundtrack.
This film could have been salvaged, maybe if they focused on the major plot that's revealed too late in the film and then have the love story from there. That would have been interesting and at least have those two actors to have something to play with.
The house was beautiful, I'll give it that but everything else was...meh.
I would give this a miss, I really would.
The first half is a slow build to the very satisfying ending. There are also some poorly written and directed characters in the film and that was a bit of a disappointment.
